This Privacy Policy explains how ExpenseLens collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Telegram bot, web dashboard, and payment features.

Information we collect

  • Telegram login and profile data such as Telegram id, first name, username, and authentication metadata.
  • Expense data you submit, including amount, merchant, category, currency, date, description, notes, budgets, templates, savings goals, and related analytics.
  • Payment metadata from Razorpay such as payment link id, payment status, payment id, reference id, amount, currency, and plan details.
  • Technical data such as request logs, error logs, device/browser information, IP address, and security metadata needed to operate the service.
  • Support information you choose to provide when contacting us.

Information we do not store

  • Card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, netbanking passwords, wallet credentials, or similar payment instrument credentials.
  • Razorpay checkout credentials or bank authentication secrets.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account.
  • To log expenses, classify transactions, show dashboards, generate reports, and detect recurring expenses.
  • To activate paid access, reconcile payment status, respond to support requests, and prevent fraud or misuse.
  • To maintain, debug, secure, and improve the service.

Service providers

We use third-party service providers only where needed to operate the service. These include hosting and database providers, Telegram for bot and login features, Razorpay for payment processing, and AI providers for expense classification and insights.

Data retention

We retain account, expense, payment, and support data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain business records. Users may request deletion of account data, subject to records we must retain for legal, tax, payment, security, or dispute-resolution reasons.

Your rights

  • You may request access, correction, update, export, or deletion of your personal data.
  • You may withdraw optional consent where applicable, although this may limit service availability.
  • Requests can be sent through the Contact page. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect account and expense data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should avoid submitting payment credentials, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information in expense notes.
